Former WWE Divas Champions The Bella Twins Tease In-Ring Return – EssentiallySports

It has been a while since Brie and Nikki Bella, The Bella Twins, stepped inside a WWE ring together. After years in WWE, the Twins announced their retirement from in-ring competition last year. However, there might be more to the story.

In their latest interview with Access Hollywood, The Bella Twins spoke to hosts Mario Lopez and Kit Hoover about a wide range of topics. Towards the end, Lopez asked the twins if there is a possibility of them being back.

“This is what’s hard for Nikki and I,” Brie Bella said. “When we left, all of a sudden the WWE women’s tag titles came, and we’re like, ‘Wait a sec, that’s for The Bella Twins.’ We’ve been dying to have tag titles. So, she and I feel like we have one more run in us, so we really want to go for those titles.”

They recently teased a return when they ‘volunteered’ to stop current WWE Women’s tag team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler on Twitter.

The Bella Twins left the WWE ring a while back

Nikki Bella has not wrestled since losing to Ronda Rousey at 2018’s All-Women pay-per-view, Evolution. She announced her formal retirement in June 2019 after revealing a cyst found on her brain. In addition to the cyst, Bella also had a career-threatening neck injury.

On the other hand, Brie Bella had not wrestled since WWE Super ShowDown in 2018 when she and Nikki teamed with Rousey to defeat The Riott Squad.

The twins share three title reigns among them, with Nikki Bella being the longest-reigning Divas Champion in history. The women were set to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame earlier this year before the COVID-19 pandemic led to the ceremony’s postponement.

They both gave birth to baby boys this summer. The Bella Twins are now promoting the latest season of their Reality TV Series, Total Bellas. See the full interview below –
